*Regarding the purchase of the Combat Fitness Training Tower:

Purchase of the tower and related equipment ($40,000+) was made possible through combined efforts:

  • $20,000 contribution from SFD
  • $10,000 grant from The Fireman's Fund
  • $2,500 contribution from L27
  • $10,000 contribution from the SFDOA Board of Trustees. This contribution came directly from the members of the Board who agreed to waive their stipend payments for 2 ½ years. SFDOA general activity funds were not used for this purchase. Access to this equipment for uniformed members will begin next spring with an organized training program. The Association has supported the Combat Fitness Program for its proven leadership in firefighter fitness.
  • 2016 UPDATE:: FYI, The Board continues to operate stipend-free. This means that all of the work we do is on a volunteer basis, and 100% of your dues go directly toward SFDOA Mission-directed activities.
